TheMidAutumnFestival(alsoknownasMidAutumnFestival,autumnEve,AugustFestivalandAugusthalf,EnglishName:MidautumnFestival)isoneofthefourtraditionalfestivalsinChina.ThedateisonAugust15ofthelunarcalendar.Sinceancienttimes,theMidAutumnFestivalhasfolkcustomssuchassacrificingthemoon,appreciatingthemoon,eatingmooncakes,playinglanterns,appreciatingosmanthus,drinkingosmanthuswineandsoon.Later,peoplegraduallycombinedmoonappreciationwithmooncakes,implyingfamilyreunionandsustenanceofmissing.Atthesametime,mooncakesarealsoChineseAgiftusedtoconnectfeelingsbetweenfriendsinautumn.ItissaidthateatingmooncakesonthemidautumnfestivalbeganintheYuanDynasty.Atthattime,thepeopleintheCentralPlainscouldnotbearthecruelruleoftherulingclassoftheYuanDynasty,andrevoltedagainsttheYuanDynastyoneafteranother.ZhuYuanzhangUnitedvariousresistanceforcestopreparefortheuprising.However,theofficersandsoldiersofthecourtsearchedveryclosely,anditwasverydifficulttoconveyinformation.MilitarydivisionLiuBowencameupwithaplanandorderedhissubordinatestohidethenoteof"August15nightuprising"inthecake,andthensentpeopletosenditseparatelytothelocaluprisingtroopstoinformthemtorespondtotheuprisingontheeveningofAugust15.Onthedayoftheuprising,alltherebelforcesrespondedtogether.Soon,XuDacapturedYuandaduandtheuprisingwassuccessful.Whenthenewscame,ZhuYuanzhangwassohappythathequicklyhandeddownanoralinstructiontoletalltheofficersandmenhavefunwiththepeopleintheupcomingMidAutumnFestival,andrewardedtheofficialswith"mooncakes"thatsecretlytransmittedinformationwhenthearmywaslaunchedthatyearasfestivalcakes.Thereafter,"month"Theproductionof"cake"ismorerefinedandthevarietyismoreMore.AftertheMidAutumnFestivaltoeatmooncakesCustomisthereFolkflowSpreadit.Accordingtohistorians,thecustomofappreciatingthemoonontheMidAutumnFestivalwasfirstraisedbyancientcourtliterati,andthenspreadtothepeople.AsearlyasthefortysongsofmidnightintheYuefuoftheWeiandJinDynasties,therewasasong"autumnwiththemoon"whichdescribed:"lookupatthebrightmoonandexpressyourloveforthousandsofmiles."IntheTangDynasty,itwasverypopulartoenjoythemoonandplaywiththemoonintheMidAutumnFestival.Therewerepoemschantingthemooninmanypoets"masterpieces.ThemidautumnfestivalbegantobecomeafixedfestivalThereis"August15MidAutumnFestival".ItissaidthatEmperorXuanzongofTangDynastysleepwalkedintheMoonPalaceandgotneonclothesandfeatherclothesThecustomofthemidautumnfestivalbegantoprevailamongthepeopleaftertheMidAutumnFestival.MIDAUTNMNTABLOID
