比较can和beableto1)can could表示能力;可能(过去时用could),只用于现在时和过去时(could)。 Theywillbeabletotellyouthenewssoon. HewasabletofleeEuropebeforethewarbrokeout.=HemanagedtofleeEuropebeforethewarbrokeout. —CouldIhavethetelevisionon?—Yes,youcan./No,youcan’t.Hecouldn’tbeabadman. MayGodblessyou! Hemightbeathome. 15
Youmay(just)aswelltellmethetruth. Mybrotherwasveryill,soIhadtocallthedoctorinthemiddleofthenight. Hehadtolookafterhissisteryesterday. Youmustn’ttellhimaboutit. Youhaveworkedhardallday.Youmustbetired. Hemuststaythere. Ididn’thearthephone.Imusthavebeenasleep. —Whydidn’tyouanswermyphonecall?—Well,Imusthavebeensleeping,soIdidn’thearit.5)否定推测用can’t。IfTomdidn’tleavehereuntilfiveo’clock,hecan’tbehomeyet. Idon’tknowwheresheis,shemaybeinWuhan. Atthismoment,ourteachermustbecorrectingourexampapers.15
WewouldhavefinishedthisworkbytheendofnextDecember. Theroadiswet.Itmusthaverainedlastnight. Yourmothermusthavebeenlookingforyou. Mikecan’thavefoundhiscar,forhecametoworkbybusthismorning. 1)may(might)have+donesth.can(could)have+donesth. Philipmay(might)havebeenhurtseriouslyinthecaraccident. 2)musthave+donesth. —Lindahasgonetowork,butherbicycleisstillhere.—Shemusthavegonebybus.3)oughttohavedonesth.shouldhavedonesth. 4)needn’thavedonesth. Theweatherwashot. 5)wouldliketohavedonesth. —Oughthetogo?—Yes.Ithinkheoughtto. hadbetterdosth.
hadbetterhavedonesth. Iwouldratherstayherethangohome.=Iwouldstayhereratherthangohome. Wouldyouliketogowithme? Wouldyoulike...? Wouldyoulikesomecake? Won’tyousitdown? No,Ineedn’tMustyou...?/don’thaveto.12.带to的情态动词带to的情态动词有四个:oughtto,haveto,usedto,beto,如加上havegotto(=must),beableto,为六个。 Shedidn’tusetoplaytennisbeforeshewasfourteen.Yououghtnottohavetoldherallaboutit.Oughthetoseeaheartspecialistatonce.oughtto本身作为情态动词使用。 Needyougoyet?
